I'm a Computer Science student at Montclair State University. Most of the projects I build start the same way: I run into a problem, the existing solution feels cluttered or paywalled, so I build my own.
That approach has led me to projects like an equity dashboard, a budgeting app, and an underwriting engine. While the domains vary, the engineering doesn't — building reliable backends, integrating APIs, designing scalable systems, and creating intuitive user experiences.
I'm interested in general software engineering, with a particular interest in fintech. Outside of coursework, I enjoy building side projects, following financial markets, and taking on problems just beyond my current skill set.
A rules-based underwriting engine that returns explainable credit decisions — approve, deny, or refer — with a rule-by-rule breakdown showing each threshold, the applicant's actual value, and the reason it passed or failed. Includes a no-code editor for the policy rules and a searchable decision history. The engine itself has no framework dependency, so it can be constructed and unit-tested on its own.
A live watchlist dashboard that pulls real equity prices from Yahoo Finance and renders them in an interactive Streamlit app. Search and add tickers, then read current price, 52-week range, and volume side by side instead of tab-hopping. Watchlists persist in SQLite across sessions, and prices refresh on a five-minute cycle.
A budget tracker built in Python, with an account switcher that scopes every category, transaction, and chart between personal and business finances. The dashboard reports income, expense, and net totals against the prior month, category-level spending breakdowns, and a 12-month trend line — over full CRUD for categories and transactions with inline editing and filtering.
Pulls listing and sale data for a given area and charts how prices move over time — median price, price per square foot, and comparable listings within a radius. Built to answer "is this neighborhood actually getting more expensive?" with data instead of vibes.
